We have another great Sunday of NBA basketball with the first game to tipoff at 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. This matchup is between the Denver Nuggets and the Brooklyn Nets hosted at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The Denver Nuggets are showing a +6 lead according to our in house weekly odds point rating system also sometimes referred to as the WOP Rating. This rating is our homebrew custom Pythagoras’ theorem based formula to determine the real performance of a specific team rather than just a W-L ratio relative to division, conference, and overall standings. We also apply this formula to individual player statistics that yield similar results and function.
The second of the matchups is in Charlotte with the Charlotte Hornets hosting the Atlanta Hawks at Spectrum Center. Charlotte also has a tight lead over Atlanta holding +4 WOP to win over the Hawks.
Three more games are set to tipoff at 6:00 PM EST. This includes the following matchups:
Los Angeles Clippers @ Washington Wizards hosted at Capital One Arena.
Toronto Raptors @ Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center
Chicago Bulls @ Miami Heat at the AmericanAirlines Arena
The Toronto Raptors are coming off a two-game losing streak at home after being unbeaten at their home court for 9. Toronto is heading to Philadelphia for a rematch of the Game 7 of the 2019 NBA playoffs. Raptors are looking to bring home a W and get back some much-needed confidence in their game.
We have Toronto and the 76ers match up very tight at a +1 WOP to win over the 76ers. 76ers retain the home-court advantage.
LA Clippers have had a one day resting period after their loss in Milwaukee against the Bucks. The Bucks were able to keep Kawhi from making them from field goal range as Kawhi went 5 for 14 in field-goal attempts. Only attempting 2 threes and making one.
We have LA Clippers at a +14 to win over the Wizards. Wizards retain the home-court advantage.
Chicago Bulls are visiting the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami as one of the three matchups starting at 6:00 PM EST. Miami has been performing quite well it will take a stellar performance from the bulls to edge the heat in this one.
Miami Heat is expected to win with a +12 WOP over the Bulls this evening.
Sacramento Kings against Dallas Mavericks is set to start at 7:00 PM EST just one hour after the three games at 6:00 PM. This is our widest spread between two teams with the Dallas Mavericks heavily expected to win this matchup. Dallas holds a substantial +21 WOP over the Kings and also possesses a home-court advantage. In addition, they also have their secret weapon Doncic which we anticipate will throw up another high scoring night for himself.
Dallas Mavericks is expected to heavily win over the Sacramento Kings at American Airlines Center this evening in Dallas.
The two late evening games of the night are:
Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Portland Trail Blazers in Portland at the Moda Center. Tip-off at 9:00 PM EST
Minnesota Timberwolves visiting the Los Angeles Lakers in LA at the staples center. Tip-off at 9:30 PM EST.
The Thunder has a +2 WOP to win over the Trail Blazers making this another close match up. Just 1 less than the Raptors matchup. We expect this to be a close matchup as long as all starters play and remain healthy throughout the game. Trail Blazers hold the home-court advantage in this matchup.
The LA Lakers are just having a great year and will likely look to extend another win in tonights match up. The lakers boast a 20-3 standings position along with a +15 WOP over the Timberwolves to win.
